Why So Angry?
If anyone has ever asked you “why are you so angry?” when you were just sharing a thought or opinion, you might want to examine your tone and tempo. Often we don’t realize what we communicate by our tone of voice. We think we’re talking reasonably, while our audience hears anger, contempt, and other unintended overtones. If you think people may not be “reading you right”, tape a few conversations and listen to yourself speak. You may find that you need a little moderation of your tone and tempo.
