This Will Go Away
Employees in an organization that has decided to make a significant change often think that ignoring the change will make it disappear. These workplace ostriches keep doing things in the old way because they honestly believe the company will eventually abandon the change initiative and revert to prior practice. Change is not easy for any company and big change is even harder. If there were not inescapable, compelling business reasons for change, most organizations would avoid the hassle. Ignoring change and hoping it will go away simply delays the inevitable and leaves those employees struggling to catch up later.
