Self-Talk
Just as important as the way we communicate with those around us, is the way we interact with ourselves. Even when we show a face of confidence and competence to the world, we often sabotage ourselves with negative self-talk. Just imagine if a co-worker or supervisor criticized you publicly the way you sometimes do in your own mind! In the words of Max Ehrmann, “Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself”. You know you are doing your best. So make sure your self-talk is building you up, not tearing you down.
