Choices in Change
As an employee in a company that is about to make a major change, you have little choice in whether or not that change happens. Change in organizations is usually triggered by outside forces like shrinking market share or increased competition. If the alternative to change is business failure, you can be sure that employee preference for the status quo will not be enough to reverse the decision. To a great extent how the change affects you will depend on how you choose to respond to it. You may not have control over the direction of the company, but you do have control over how you react to that direction. Remember that swimming upstream is exhausting while catching the current can be exhilarating.
