Speak With Authority
Often we undermine our own authority with certain speech patterns and habits. Avoid using adverbs like “really, such, so and awfully” that are commonly used for emphasis. They deflate your authority. Listen to yourself saying “That was such an effective presentation, John”. Then listen to the impact of the sentence without the adverb, “That was an effective presentation, John”. In this case, when it comes to speaking with authority, less is more.
