The Resistance Factor
So you have to implement a major change at work. In a recent survey of 500 major corporations around the globe, employee resistance (at all levels) was the single biggest hurdle facing any change initiative. The survey also found that the most important factor in overcoming that resistance was communication: early and often in the change cycle. As is often the case in the corporate world, the activity most often overlooked by leaders and management was….you guessed it…….communication. Don’t get caught by the resistance factor. Communicate early, communicate often and communicate well.
