You Want it When?
You have a board meeting at 3:00 PM tomorrow to discuss the annual budget. Ideally you would like to review it thoroughly before the meeting to prepare for any questions. Before leaving you explain this to your accounting manager fully expecting the report to be on your desk first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, your accounting manager believes one hour is plenty of time to review the budget and plans to put it on your desk at 2:00 PM the next day… Taking the time to explain why you need something in a hurry shows respect for your employees – just remember to be specific when stating your expectations.
