It Defies Logic

Life is full of decisions – including decisions about what we choose to believe. As a rule, we prefer to believe that our actions and the actions of others are motivated by some underlying logic. But what happens when our perception of what is logical is not the same as someone else’s? More often than not, we assume our logic is right and theirs is faulty…leading us to believe that people are unreasonable, or even irrational. Of course, they are probably thinking the same thing about us and the logic that drives our decisions! Opening our minds to the possibility of alternate perceptions is not always an easy thing to do. However, when we decide it is the only way to move forward, it may help to remember that human nature often defies logic.
