Adao Institute for Change Nominates CaseBank Technologies for New Media Award - 12 Feb 2005
The Adao Institute for Change have been excited to be involved as change management consultants and trainers with CaseBank Technologies Inc. in the ongoing development of their new educational software SpotLight Mentor™.
Having developed diagnostic software designed to assist in troubleshooting repairs on complex machinery and systems (SpotLight®), the CaseBank development team soon became aware of the training and educational potential of the product. As a result, in 2003 they began the development of a web-based educational tool called SpotLight Mentor™.
This tool combines the elements of distributed learning (web-based) with the dynamic diagnostics of SpotLight and the captured experience of the SpotLight knowledgebase. The SpotLight Mentor interface backed by years of accumulated repair and maintenance data creates a learning environment much like that of working with an experienced mentor or expert technician.
The resulting prototype, SpotLight Mentor, represents not only a new way to learn, but it has been developed for a segment of the working population that are traditionally under-serviced when it comes to supplementary educational opportunities.
The unique aspects of the program and its unusual target consumer prompted the Adao Institute for Change to nominate CaseBank Technologies Inc. for a New Media Award in the category of Excellence in Education.
